Student Spotlight

Meet Courtney Martin!
In 2021, Courtney faced significant health challenges that led her to pivot from pursuing a nursing career to becoming a massage therapist. She began her journey in the field as a front desk receptionist at Unlimited Bodywork , where she developed a deep appreciation for the medical benefits of massage therapy—without the intense demands of nursing. Witnessing the health benefits of massage firsthand.
When it came time to choose a school, Courtney selected the CIMT due to its glowing reviews from alumni and clients. An added bonus was CIMT’s ability to accept her Veterans Benefits, a crucial factor in her decision.
“There’s too much to love,” Courtney shared when asked about her experience at CIMT. She described the work as challenging but incredibly rewarding and praised her classmates and instructors for creating a supportive and enriching environment. “It’s the most stressful, relaxing school experience,” she quipped.
Jill Wolf, one of her instructors, may not know it yet, but her and Courtney will become best friends after graduation!
After CIMT, Courtney plans on working at Unlimited Bodywork as well as owning her own business, to help the people she wants to help.
CIMT‘s Scholarship Colorado’s Future

CIMT Scholarship Colorado’s Future
At Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy, we believe in the power of medical based healing through massage therapy and the importance of nurturing the next generation of massage therapists. That’s why we are proud to introduce the CIMT Scholarship Colorado’s Future, designed to support current and aspiring students in their journey toward their career in massage therapy.
The CIMT Scholarship Colorado’s Future aims to provide financial assistance to individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to the field and a passion for holistic healing. By removing financial burdens, we hope to empower students to pursue their education necessary to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
This scholarship fund is primarily intended for tuition expenses, ensuring that recipients can focus on their education without financial burdens. If a recipient chooses not to use the funds for tuition, or does not have need for tuition assistance, the amount will be credited toward our store. Students may use this fund for textbooks, lotions, study materials, or massage essentials. This flexibility ensures that every dollar contributes to the success and growth of our future therapists. This scholarship will be awarded to one current CIMT student and one new CIMT applicant.
This scholarship not only recognizes academic excellence but also values personal growth, community involvement, and a dedication to the principles of medical based massage therapy. We invite applicants who are ready to embrace their potential and contribute to the field of massage therapy in meaningful ways.
We invite our clients, alumni and everyone else to donate, no matter how small or big, to the CIMT Scholarship Colorado’s Future Fund to help nurture one of our students!
Together, we can foster a vibrant community of skilled professionals who will elevate the standards of care and healing. If you or someone you know is interested in applying, please visit our website under the “scholarship” page for more details. Join us in shaping the future of massage therapy!

Alumni Spotlight

Meet Jamie Smith!
Jamie graduated Spring of 2003! She has been a practicing Massage Therapist since. Jaime has worked at Massage Envy, Spas but she prefers being a sole proprietorship. She also accepts VA clients!
Here’s what Jaime had to see about CIMT: ” I had a great experience at CIMT! When I was there it was an 1150 hour program and we were licensed by Colorado Springs and had to have at least a 1000 hour program. We had to draw the muscles for our KOV’s, we had to do an internship at Penrose hospital giving massages to employees.”
We are so lucky to have Jaime as part of our Alumni Family!

Joel Kort Massage Chair PTSD Fund

September is Suicide Prevention Month
With heavy hearts, we honor our past student, Joel Kort, who was part of our Fall AM 2015 class.
Joel, a veteran who faced the challenges of PTSD after being deployed multiple times. Because of it, Joel regularly got massages and found solace in supporting techniques like acupuncture, meditation and Reiki.
Inspired by his experience with the healing affects of massage therapy, Joel sought out to share “his healing hands”, as his friends often told him he had.
Through all of his aspirations Joel struggled in his personal life and left us in 2015.
To honor his memory, CIMT is committed to keep Joel’s memory and spirits alive. We deeply appreciate his family for the generous donation the massage chair in the Pikes Peak Quiet Room.
Joel’s memory continues to live on through the love of those who knew him and through our students and staff here at the Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy.
